The Son of Man Is Coming - Luke 12:35-40

WORK DAILY UNTIL HIS RETURN - 12:35

Cf. Matt. 25:1-13; Eph. 6:13-18; I Peter 1:1-13-16

"Occupy til I come" Luke 19

*Personally prepared - "Let your loins"

*Spiritually ready - "Let your loins be girded about"

*A visible representative - "and your lights burning"

WAIT PERSONALLY AND PATIENTLY FOR HIS RETURN - 12:36

*Personally Wait, along with Others Who Believe - And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord

*Be like a Servant Standing at the Door of the Lord’s House, Waiting for Him to Come Back Home - when he will return from the wedding;

*When Jesus Comes Again, Be Standing at the Door, Ready for Him - that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

Isa.51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

Luke1:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

WATCH AND ANTICIPATE HIS IMMINENT RETURN - 12:37-40

*The Lord Will Personally Bless Those Who Are Watching - Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching:

*The Lord Will Reveal Himself as the True Servant to His People - verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

*Spiritual Preparation Is a 24 Hour a Day Goal - 12:38

*Be Spiritually Strong in Preparation for His Return - 12:39

Rev. 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

*Be Constantly Prepared for That Great Day - 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

I Thess. 5:1-2 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. Cf. 2 Peter 3:10-14

Rev. 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
