Occupy Until I Come - Luke 19:11-28

JESUS CHRIST WILL REIGN IN HIS TIME

    Man’s Idea of the Kingdom Is Different from God’s   19:11 ...because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.

    God Sent His Son into the World to Offer the Kingdom  19:12 ...A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom...
 

    Jesus Will Return To Set Up His Kingdom - 19:12   ...and to return.


THE WORLD AND THE CHURCH ARE TWO DIFFERENT GROUPS

    Each of God’s Servants Has Been Given Grace for Living   19:13 And he called his ten             servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

    The World Has a Distinct and Natural Hate for Christ   19:14 But his citizens hated him

    The World Does Not Want Christ to Reign over Them   19:14 ...and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.


THE INDIVIDUAL BELIEVER WILL GIVE AN ACCOUNT OF HIS LIFE  19:15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned... I Cor. 3:11-15

    The Lord Demands An Account - he commanded these servants to be called unto him

    Every Believer Has Been Given The Grace To Live For Christ ...know how much every man had gained by trading.


FAITHFUL SERVICE IS HONORED BY FAITHFUL REWARD - 19:16-19 ...thy pound hath gained ten pounds...because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities...and he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.


SERVICE TO THE LORD IS BY ABILITY AND GIFT, HE REWARDS ACCORDINGLY    19:20-21 ...here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin...I feared thee, because thou art an austere man...


FAILURE TO SERVE WITH GOD GIVEN TALENT IS EVALUATED AS WICKED - 19:22-23 ...thou wicked servant...Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?


THE LOSS OF REWARD IS THE INEVITABLE RESULT OF NOT SERVING FAITHFULLY - 19:24-26 ...For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.


THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE WHO SERVED AND THOSE ENEMIES   19:27-28 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me...
