WARNING OF FALSE CHRIST - 17:22-23

*Future event that they would not visualize or experience

*False Christ’s will appear, or suggest that He has already come, and then want you to follow them.

Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

2 Thess. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

SUDDENNESS OF CHRIST’S COMING - 17:24
Lightning is sudden, with little warning
Flash of brilliant light as the lightening flashes across the sky
In a short time the thunder is heard and felt
It is a short warning, with no time to react you are hit

Translation of the church is instantaneous: 1 Cor. 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

I Thess. 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
