Luke 8:26-39 Sin, leading to Thankfulness

THE LORD LEADS US TO MEN OF GREAT NEED Luke 8:26-27

He was destitute spiritually - ...a certain man, which had devils long time...

He was destitute morally - and ware no clothes...

He was destitute socially - neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

THE WORLD ALREADY KNOWS, BUT IS AFRAID AND CONVINCED OTHERWISE - 8:28

He knew immediately who Jesus was - When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him...

He knew he was answerable to the Son of God - What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high?

He knew that Jesus had the power to judge him - I beseech thee, torment me not...

THE LORD HAS THE POWER TO FREE ANYONE FROM ANY SIN - 8:29

Jesus has power over demons and Satan - (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man...

Satan keeps people in bondage until released by Christ - ...was kept bound with chains and in fetters;

Even if the human bonds are broken, man is still left in a spiritual wilderness - and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

THE MAGNITUDE OF SIN IS BEYOND OUR ABILITY TO DEAL WITH - 8:30

Christ knows who and what binds us - and Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name?

The magnitude of our sin is greater than our ability to conquer it - And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

ALL OF SATAN’S KINGDOM FEARS THE GREATNESS OF CHRIST’S POWER - 8:31

All demonic forces are subject to Christ - And they besought him...

Jesus has the power to judge immediately, any demons - that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

JESUS DEALS WITH THE SIN ISSUE COMPLETELY 8:32-33 ...down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

WHEN THE WORLD SEES A CONVERSION, THEY BECOME ANGRY AND FEARFUL - 8:34-37

The world fears a changed life - When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled...and they were afraid.

The world often becomes angry when people’s lives are changed by Christ - They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear...

WHEN YOU ARE TRULY DELIVERED, YOU KNOW AND ARE THANKFUL - 8:38-39

When you come to Christ, you desire to fellowship with Him - Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him:

We are not follow Christ to His destination yet, but fulfill His purpose on earth - Evangelism and personal testimony

Witness To your family -.but Jesus sent him away, saying, Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee.
