“That he should not see death” - idein - Aor Inf - know perceive, behold, experience

“And was not found” - eurisketo - Imp Pass Ind - searching with diligence, inquiry, and scrutiny

The Old Testament speaks of a special translation when dealing with *Elijah: 2 Kings 2:11-12

And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces

“For before his translation he had this testimony” - memarturhtai - verbal and practical witness of his life, an affirmation of the truth that existed in his life.  His testimony was known by the Lord, his companions, friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.  The testimony of his life was that he pleased God.

“That he pleased God” - euhresthkenai - Pf Act Ind - all encompassing idea, God was pleased with something that He had been personally given.  What did Enoch do that pleased God? CF. The context of this passage has to include Hebrews 11:6.

*Enoch Knew God’s Purpose and Plan and Then Preached it to His Generation.  Jude 14-15

“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

This is reiterated in When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: Matt. 25:31

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 2 Thess. 1:7

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.  Rev. 1:7

Enoch Walked with God, Knowing the Heart of God,  for 300 Years.  Gen. 5:22

Gen. 17:1  And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

Deut. 5:33  Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

Deut. 13:4  Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Ps 128:1  A Song of degrees. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

Micah 4:5  For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

Rom. 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Eph 5:15  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Col 1:10  That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Enoch Was Translated after He Finished His Life Long Goal of Pleasing God!  What would God have you do to please Him?  The Bible says that Enoch walked with God.  In essence, it means that Enoch knew the Lord quite well after walking with Him for his entire life.

Rom. 8:8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

1 Thess. 4:1  Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

The New Testament Translation of The Church is Prophesied: “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  I Thess. 4:13-17

If a loved one or friend dies in Christ, we have hope and knowledge that they will be resurrected and that we will see them at the translation or at our death.  To absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”  I Cor. 15:51-53

Jesus clearly taught that His children (true believers) would be taken up to inherit the promises of  eternal life.  John 14:1-3

Do you know the Lord.  Are you walking with God yet?  There is only one way, and that is through coming to know Christ as Savior.  John 14:6; 8:24

You can never please God without knowing His Son, Jesus.
