What Are The Rewards of Seeking After Christ?     Hebrews 11:6

"and that he is a rewarder of them”- misqapodoth - One who pays wages due

Ruth 2:12   "The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust."

Prov. 8:17 “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me

Jer. 29:13 “'And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search form: with all your heart”

Saul sought after a familiar spirit, rather than seeking the Lord - 1 Sam. 28:7  Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

The Jews sought after the Lord after they had transgressed and could not find Him - Prov. 1:28  Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

If we love the Lord and seek after Him we shall find Him -  Prov. 8:17  I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
 

The omnipotent God of the universe may be known if we seek Him with our whole being - Jer. 29:13  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Some seek the Lord for the wrong reasons - John 6:26  Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

*God promised Israel great reward it they kept His commandments:  The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.  The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.   Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.  Psalm 19:7-11

 “Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.”  I Cor. 3:8

When does God reward those who seek him diligently?  How does God reward? Let’s find some answers:

*First, our Reward is God Himself: “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”  Gen. 15:1

*God’s daily provision: “And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and  your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.”  Num. 18:31 

*God’s blessing of children is a reward: “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3

*God rewards those who work righteousness: For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;  Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  I Cor. 3:11-14

The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. Prov. 11:18

Matt. 16:27 “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.”

Luke 6:23 “Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven...”

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”  Matt. 5:10-12

*When you find wisdom, God gives a reward: “So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.”  Prov. 24:10

*When you give secretly and pray God rewards: Matt. 6:4-6  “That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and  in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

*When You Help a righteous man You receive A Reward: “He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.”   Matt. 10:41

*Our eternal inheritance is part of our reward: Col. 3:24 “Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

*Respecting God’s program and seeing our labors as eternal for Him: Heb. 11:26  Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”

Conclusion: There will be a day when the Lord Jesus will descend from heaven, at His second coming, and He will surely reward!
