11:23-28 The Faith of Moses’ Decision Making Process
refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; (11:23-24) hrnasato (Aor Mid Ind, from arneomai, to deny, refuse, or disregard our own personal interests, or not to accept something offered. *He was not a child of the world, but a child of God.
choosing rather - (11:25) – elomenoV (Aor Mid Ptc from aireomai - Refused the place of advantage: Jews stayed in bondage, slavery, death, but Moses chose rather (mallon, willingly, more readily, sooner) to suffer affliction. There is no compromise with Christ! It was a matter of ethics, faith, loyalty, example, and trust for Moses, and just the same choice with us personally.
to suffer affliction with the people of God – sugkakouceisqai (Pres Mid/Pass Inf) to share persecution or to be fellowship with others who are suffering.
than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; - proskairon ecein amartiav apolausin - the temporary enjoyment of worldly pleasures.
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches
than the treasures in Egypt: -

chief. Faith evaluates in light of eternity! Moses saw his reproach for Christ
(Christ’s death as great, and everything else paled in comparison.
for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. - apoblepw (Impf Act Ind) - to look away from all else at some other important object! Heb. 9:28; 12:2
Isa. 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

The Reproach of Christ - Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. Heb 13:13
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Cor 12:10
Saw it as Greater Riches: cf. Heb. 10:35-36
"verily there is a reward for the righteous" Psalm 58:11
"To him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward" Prov. 11:18
"Let no man beguile you of your reward.." Col. 2:18
by faith he forsook Egypt not fearing the wrath of the king

or abandoning something because you cease to care for it.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. Heb 6:15
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Heb 12:3
..we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. James 5:11
as seeing him who is invisible. – aorato (Pres Act Ptc) Lit. “Seeing Him who is invisible, he endured.” 40 years of preparation in Egypt and 40 years in the wilderness before he the brought about the Exodus. By faith constantly seeing Him who is invisible!
Kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. (11:28) - pepoihke (Pf Act Ind) from poiew - The people had faith in Moses. One man can make a difference! How did he keep the Passover (10th plague)
*He saw God's judgment as actually laying hold of the substitute and the blood sprinkled (personal application) Heb. 9:19-22
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: 1 Peter 1:2
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:9
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Eph 1:7
