The Perfect Atonement of Christ - Heb. 9:6-12

9:6 Now when these things were thus ordained, kateskeuasmenwn - Pf Pass Ptc - prepared, built, made. To furnish, equip, prepare, make ready, erected with the concept of equipping with all the necessary things for function.

The Daily Ministry of The Priests - 9:6 ...the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.  epitelountew - Pres Act Ptc - performing the service of God.

The normal ministry consisted of the priest entering into the first tabernacle (before the veil that separated it from the holy place) twice daily. In this manner the Priest was able to perform his normal service for God.

The Continuing Ministry of The High Priest - 9:7 The high priest entered once yearly into the second portion of the Tabernacle (Holy of Holies). Because of the lack of any righteousness of his own, having no merit, no personal attainments, and no right to appear before God, he sacrificed for his own sins and then for the sins (ignorance) of the people. EXEGETE - cf. 5:1-5; 7:27-28.

The Sovereign Testimony of The Holy Spirit - 9:8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Cf. 10:15-22;

"Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 10:7-9

The Tabernacle Showed The Failure and Need of Man - 9:9-10

Which was a figure for the time then present, - parabolh - parable, figure, comparison. Placing of something next side to something else in juxtaposition (as of ships in battle), comparison of one thing with another, likeness, parable: an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. Cf. 9:24

in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; - teleiwsai - Aor Act Inf - Heb 7:18,19; 10:1,11

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. Gal. 3:21

The Atonement of Christ Brings Complete Reformation - 9:10-12 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. Cf. 9:24; 11:19

Rom. 5:14 "Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come."

9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 3:1; 8:2; 10:1

9:12 "neither by the blood of goats and calves" Heb. 10:4

"but by his own blood" - John 1:29 "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

I Pet 1:18 "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;"

Rev. 1:5 "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,"

"Having obtained eternal redemption for us" Heb. 10:10; 5:9

The Lord Jesus inaugurated this time of reformation, presenting His own blood On the heavenly mercy seat for a perfect atonement. The entire foundation of the Old and New Testaments is the blood of Christ.

Rev.5:9 "And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy...for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;"
