Let Us Consider One Another - Hebrews 10:24-25

THE NECESSITY OF CARING FOR BELIEVERS: 10:24 Let us consider - to be attentive or have continuous care

to provoke - Stimulate excitement, mutual care and purposeful living. Cf. 2 Cor. 9:2

"Unto love and good works" - cf. Heb. 6:10; 13:1

THE NECESSITY OF MEETING TOGETHER: 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together," - Not abandoning. Cf. Acts 1:13-14; 2:1,42-44

*Believers were commanded to meet together in the upper room and the Holy Spirit descended  Acts 2:1-4

*Believers were commanded by Jesus to meet together and he would be present
Matt. 18:20

*Believers were directed to meet together for each others growth and knowledge
I Thess. 5:11

*Believers are encouraged to meet together to share the Lord’s Supper - Cf. I Cor. 11:33

*Believers met together for the learning of God’s Word  - Cf. Acts 17:10-12

*Believers were encouraged to meet together for the ministry of giving
2 Cor. 8:1-2; 2 Cor. 8:11; 2 Cor. 9:6-7

*Believers were taught to meet together to sing praises unto God. Cf. Col. 3:16

*Believers were chosen to glorify God together - Cf. Rom. 15:6

as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another:  - A stark contrast

Draw near in faith (toward God)

Draw near in love (for others)

Draw near in hope (for ourselves)

and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Cf. Heb. 3:13; 2 Pet. 3:11-12
