The Once For All Sacrifice of Christ - Hebrews 10:10-14
THE DECLARED WILL OF THE FATHER - 10:10 "By the which will" - That Is, the Will of God, that there is no name given under heaven among men, whereby we must be saved. We believe in him, receive redemption through His blood, and are sanctified unto God through the sacrifice of Christ.
The WILL of God is that Jesus should be incarnated; that he should suffer and die, taste death for every man; that all who believe would be saved from their sins. For this is the WILL of God, our sanctification.
THE COMPLETED WORK OF THE SON - "We are sanctified" - hniasmenoi - Pf Pass Ptc - *to be holy, consecrated to God, to purify, to cleanse and make free from the guilt of sin.
"For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified (Pres Act Ptc) are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren," Heb 2:11
The present tense represents a simple statement of fact or reality viewed as occurring in actual time. In most cases this corresponds directly with the English present tense.
"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified (Aor Pass Ind), but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." 1 Cor 6:11
"Through the offering of the body of Christ" - prosforaV - the act of offering, a bringing to, that which is offered, a gift, a present. Eph. 2:8-9
"Once for all" - efapax - once for all, all at once - cf. Heb. 9:12; 10:12; 13:12
10:11 THE EARTHLY MINISTER OF SACRIFICES - 10:11 - "And every priest standeth daily ministering" - Every earthly priest whoever lived or will live - no matter how good a man. No matter how sincere or devout. No matter how true or morally right and faithful to offer a sacrifice, he could change the outcome. The priests ministered daily. That is, they (leitourgwn - Pres Act Ptc) - assumed an office which must was administered at their own expense.
And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering. Num. 28:3
THE EARTHLY ATTEMPT ALWAYS ENDS IN FAILURE - "and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices," - prosferwn - Pres Act Ptc - to bring a present or a thing, to reach or hand a thing to one. Cf. 7:27
THE EARTHLY RESULTS ARE ALWAYS THE SAME "which can never take away sins:" - oudepote *no never, absolutely not have any power to take away sins. It is only by the blood of Jesus Christ that we can be cleansed of our sin and be forgiven! Heb. 9:12-14

THE HEAVENLY SACRIFICE BY CHRIST - 10:12 "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;"- uper amartiwn prosenegkaV -*offered permanently one sacrifice, above and beyond the norm for the earthly priest, forever! Heb. 7:27 8:1; 9:12
THE LENGTH OF HIS PRIESTHOOD - 10:13 "From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool."
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Psalm 2:6-10
THE ETERNAL RESULTS OF THE HEAVENLY SACRIFICE - 10:14 "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever" - teteleiwken - Pf Act Ind - absolute sanctification in Christ, we have an absolute hope that endures. One time occurring event, which can never be repeated again.
"them that are sanctified." - agiazomenouV - Pres Pass Ptc - Heb 7:19, 25 - the ones that Jesus sanctifies, are sanctified forever. What He does, He does perfectly and completely.
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Eph 5:25-27
